Having Etsy SEO tips or strategy is one of the fundamental keys to setting your shop apart from the competition. You must be “findable,” which is where SEO comes into play. It doesn’t matter how awesome your shop is – if people can’t find it, they’re going to purchase from the competition. Hopefully, you can see how this illustration relates to Etsy SEO. So what do they do? They look around and find a nearby cabin that has some vacancy and they rent that one instead – even though it’s more expensive, less updated, and doesn’t have the same gorgeous views that your cabin has. But with no clear signage or instructions on how to get there, your renters can’t find it. It’s beautiful, has a warm fireplace ready to be lit, and plenty of food in the refrigerator. It takes them to the foot of the mountain, but after that, there are no further instructions or signs for how to get to the cabin. The only problem is that the address is vague. The first weekend comes and your first pair of renters set off to the mountains to enjoy some time at the cabin. You plant new landscaping, perform a deep clean inside, stock the cabin with everything a renter could need, and even price it below the going market rate. Your family spends weeks getting the property ready. You and your family have enjoyed staying at the cabin for years, but now you decide it’s time to make it an Airbnb listing so that it generates a little cash flow. It’s extremely nice, has every modern amenity and luxury someone could need, and is the kind of place where you could spend weeks resting and recharging. How about an analogy to help further cement this idea? Let’s say you build a beautiful cabin in the mountains. That means, even though you have products that the customer would like to buy, they’re going to buy from someone else. If you don’t have an SEO strategy in place, then your listings will most likely not be included in relevant search results. ![]() SEO is basically the art of optimizing your own shop so that you’re more likely to show up in the search results when an Etsy customer runs a search for products that you sell. Etsy’s goal is to deliver the most relevant and highest-quality listings possible, which increases the chances of the customer buying something. So when people want something, they go to Etsy, type in a product name or keyword, and click “search.” Within seconds, Etsy delivers a list of products that match their input. It’s like Google – except for handmade products and goods. In one sense, Etsy Search is basically a search engine. Google)Įtsy on SEO involves optimizing for both Etsy searches AND Google searches. When I first saw Noland’s cutout aluminum sculptures silk-screened with images, I didn’t even see them as art. Over the years, many artists had early showings here, including Barry Le Va, Kiki Smith, William Wegman, Sonic Youth, Jack Goldstein, David Wojnarowicz, Felix González-Torres, Andres Serrano, Cady Noland, John Currin, Glenn Ligon, and others. White Columns has changed my life a half-dozen times at the very least, and kept me on my toes for decades. Scary might be a better word, or depressing. It’s hard to imagine the last almost-half-century of art life here without it. Established in 1970 as an experimental platform for artists in Soho and known then as 112 Workshop or 112 Greene Street, White Columns is New York’s oldest continually run alternative exhibition space. Thankfully, alternative spaces like the Swiss Institute, the Kitchen, Artists Space, and others are all in great shape and going strong. Both in times when there’s no money and times like these, when the art world can seem awash in it, alternative spaces are more important than ever. Because, while commercial galleries are amazing places for artists - vehicles where art goes into the world, money comes back into the art world, and crucial conversations are commenced - these days, with rents so high and the stakes so great, galleries - as important as they are - have to be more for commerce and the support of artists already in the system, and less about constant iffy experimentation and risk-taking. ![]() That, and a place where artists live but aren’t featured as much as they might be. True Faith, co-curated by Matthew Higgs, opens on 30 June at Manchester Art Gallery as part of the Manchester International Festival.Without the constant incursion of new art, odd ideas, and indigenous talent - the necessary lifeblood of alternative and artist-run spaces in New York - our fair metropolis might only be the undisputed trading floor for the art world. Looking at this picture today, I feel so lucky to have grown up at that time the barriers put up around bands today simply weren’t there then. As Kevin wrote when he signed my copy of his book, Joy Division: “We were there.”įor me, these encounters with them laid the foundation for everything in my life: without this exposure to culture, I almost certainly wouldn’t have gone to art school or become a curator. For me, it’s nice to have photographic evidence of our presence. Kevin understood this: by photographing them in this old Victorian building, like something out of a Lowry painting, he showed the tension between the past, present and future. They influenced so much of what was to come: it’s hard to imagine club culture, dance music, acid house, without them and New Order. Seeing them live was a communal and transformative experience. They were wildly original, like nothing else you’d ever heard. They were about to change the course of popular music. This series of photographs, by Kevin Cummins, are the most iconic taken of Joy Division. We saw the Fall, and Mick Hucknall with his first band, Frantic Elevators, and Joy Division (here, I’m sat at the back on the right, looking straight ahead). It was an industrial building with no lift the more successful the band, the lower down they played. We also went to TJ Davidson’s, where all the great bands rehearsed. The addresses of our favourite labels were on the backs of their LPs, so we’d go and find the buildings at weekend, they were always shut, but we didn’t care. My friends and I used to go into Manchester at weekends. The fanzine was a way to get closer to them, and articulate my feelings about this music I loved. I was a few years too young for punk, but fascinated by what followed, particularly bands from the north, where I lived: the Fall, Human League and Joy Division. It was photocopied and stapled together, and all written by me to begin with. I n late 1978, when I was 13, I started a fanzine called Photophobia, about the independent music scene. ![]() If you have the optional drain kit attached to your Signature Series™ BioFalls® Filter, you can open up the valve and rinse the media and filters. Remove any debris from the bottom of the skimmer.Remove the pump and begin filling the pond. You can discontinue the periodic pumping once the water rinsing down to the bottom begins to look clear. Periodically turn the clean-out pump on to remove the dirty water. Start at the top and work your way down to the bottom. Use the gentle stream from a garden hose to rinse the rocks and gravel. For an average size pond (11′ x 16′) this should take around 15 minutes. Some algae on the rocks will prove beneficial in developing your ecosystem. Don’t try to scrub all of the algae away. You can also use a pressure washer to help remove debris from the rocks and gravel. Keep them in a shady spot with a net over the top of the pool to prevent them from jumping out. Don’t keep the fish in the holding pool for more than several hours. The fish can be removed from the pond using a net once the water is low enough so you can easily catch them. If you have fish, use some of this pond water to fill up the holding pool.Be sure to relocate the pipe two or three times to allow the water to seep into the ground and not flood the yard. If a clean-out is performed when the water is warmer, after bacteria colonies form, the balance of the ecosystem will be thrown off and your pond will go through another period of algae blooms before the bacteria colonies become re-established. The best time to perform a pond clean-out is the early spring, before your water garden completely awakens from its winter dormancy – ideally before the water temperature in the pond creeps above 55º F. You can, of course, hire a pond pro to clean your water feature for you. A Pondless® Waterfall will take considerably less time. If you’re going the full clean-out route, plan on spending a half to a full day to complete a pond clean-out. On the other hand, if there is just a small amount of debris that you can stir up and capture with a net and the water looks clear, a little tidying up is all that’s in order. First, if there is a layer of “crud” at the bottom of the pond and the water is dark in color, it would be a good idea to do a full clean-out. Take a good look at your pond and ask yourself, “Does my water feature need a full clean-out this season, or does it just need to be tidied up a little?” To help you decide, it’s worth knowing what to look for. Birds return from their southern migration, furry critters waken from their winter slumber, trees are budding, and your pond fish are stretching and warming up their fins for summer swimming! The best thing you can do for the health of your pond this season is to clean your pond – whether it’s a deep cleaning or just a bit of sprucing up. Spring is simply the most exciting time of year. The creation of the tiers was done by the BBRC in order to modify the skills and stats of each race to get their overall league win percentages within a Tier of winning. Several leagues play with match, tournament, and team building rules designed to incorporate the uses of the tiers either as defined by the BBRC or modified by themselves to give some advantages to teams. Tom Anders who was the lead designer of the CRP rules has confirmed the tiers created by Jervis Johnson and the BBRC as the goal posts for the team designs for Blood Bowl. While the tiers are not in the LRB6 or the Competition Rules Pack (CRP), they have been described on multiple occasions by members of the BBRC. This system was blessed by Games Workshop with Jervis Johnson creator of Blood Bowl residing over the decision to create the tiers. When they produced LRB6, the Blood Bowl Rules Committee (BBRC) used a system for handicapping the various teams in play, so that, in effect, a tier system would be used to determined the difficulty of play for certain teams.
